When fashion and art collide, the infusion is sensational. Marc Nolan’s latest footwear collection is a unique case of what happens when the two meet. Its “Chicago Creative Collab Series” features design collaborations with a collective of dope Black men in the creative space.
Marc Nolans, founder, and creator Sebastian Malczewski launched the brand in 2018 to provide a quality shoe with a variety of unique color combinations, fine craftsmanship, and opulent style. Malczewski named the brand after his mentor Marc and his son Nolan. Its “Chicago Creative Series” is the brand’s celebration of the city’s creative talent.
Eric Knowles Owner of the GQ Gentlemen Boutique kicked the five-week series off in May. Black Menswear “followed suit” with the launch of their shoe befittingly dubbed “The Gentleman Loafer.” Multidisciplinary artist Charles Edwards designed the loafer with a balance of sartorial style and versatility.
Week 3 of the series featured DJ and Co-Founder of All Summa and Jump Judy Dashiel. “Abe in War Pink Patent Leather” is undeniably fire and a bold take on the penny loafer classics. Fellow Artist, Influencer, non-profit CEO, and Community Leader Jeffrey Beckham will release his design on June 1st.
Beckham who uses his art to address social and economic issues to make an impact in Chicago, has pieces on display worldwide. Beckham opened his gallery in June 2021 in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. “The Captain X Jeff Beckham” will surely be a crowd-pleaser when it debuts.
The five-week series will conclude June 8th with Filmmaker, Creative Director, and DJ Mike Abrantie.
The next event will take place at Marc Nolan (169 N Sangamon) on Thursday, June 1st, at 6:30 pm, featuring “The Captain X Jeff Beckham.” Shoes will be on display and available for purchase.
