From benefit concerts to back to school drives, Polo G, the Hood Poet, has a long history of giving back to fans and the community. His latest effort to uplift came in the form of an unforgettable showcase of talent and culture on Chicago’s South Side — and this one hit especially close to home.
Hosted at his alma mater, and sponsored by Draco Strategies & Dr. Sabha Abour, the event was a full-circle moment for the chart-topping Chicago rapper, who returned to Wendell Phillips Academy High School, the very place where his journey began to host a talent showcase for up and coming creatives. Teachers who once saw his potential in the classroom were now watching him inspire the next generation from the stage.
Eventnoire was honored to sponsor the event as the official ticketing platform, and show up front row for all the powerful performances, raw energy, and laughs from special guest host @korporate00.
The night kicked off with @Polo.capalot running through fan favorites like Pop Out and Martin & Gina, setting the tone for a crowd that was already electric. The auditorium was packed wall-to-wall, with fans lined up long before doors opened — a testament to both Polo G’s star power and the love Chicago continues to show him. This wasn’t just another performance, it was a heartfelt homecoming.
The stage then opened up to rising stars battling for the top spot, and special performances from hometown favorites @elhitta @calboy and @star.bandz. The showcase drew aspiring artists, producers, and creatives from as close as the South Side to as far away as Australia, all hoping for the night’s ultimate prize — a chance to collaborate with Polo G himself.
While the artists showed out onstage, the crowd showed what makes Chicago so special. The energy was infectious and the support was loud for all of the performances of the night, no matter the vibe. Performers from all over the world hit the stage with talents that ranged from acapella to acoustic guitar, a bucket boys drum set, to a line of majorette dancers, a few rappers, a couple freestyle duos and everything in between. Judges from multiple record labels were on-site to award the third and fourth place winners a $5,000 cash prize and the title of one of the city’s best up-and-coming acts.
Congrats to the 4 winners who took it home:
By the end of the night, one thing was clear: this wasn’t just an event — it was a celebration of community, talent, and roots. A true testament to both Polo G’s star power, and the love he has for his city.
