Detroit, MI — Trinity Films Entertainment Group, in collaboration with The Ford Foundation, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, The Love Building, Carr Center and The Marlene Boll Theater (YMCA), is thrilled to announce the 6th Annual Detroit Black Film Festival (DBFF), set to take place from September 25 through September 28, 2025. This year’s festival will showcase an impressive lineup of 72 outstanding films from 30 countries, celebrating the creativity and talent of Black filmmakers and actors worldwide.
The DBFF offers a diverse selection of compelling narratives, ranging from thought-provoking documentaries to engaging stories that honor Black experiences. Audiences can look forward to breathtaking cinematography, powerful performances, and insightful discussions that will enhance the cinematic experience. In just six years, the DBFF has become Michigan’s premier film festival, screening over 500 films directed, produced, written and created by Black filmmakers. This year’s festival promises to be nothing short of incredible.
TASTE OF BLACK SPIRITS × LIQUID FORUM × COLLECTIVE BEHAVIOR Experience
In addition to film screenings, the festival will feature the 14th edition of the Taste of Black Spirits Collective Behavior Tour, presented by Black Spirits Legacy, Buddha Foods, Loraines BBQ Sauce and Loyalty Wines, taking place on September 27th, ( 6PM – 11PM ). This event takes place at The Doubletree Hotel Crystal Ballroom at 525 W. Lafayette Blvd. Detroit, MI 48226.
This year’s theme, “Cinema, Culture & Cocktails,” promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, merging exceptional films with delightful culinary offerings. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste an array of handcrafted cocktails made by expert mixologists, with participation limited to those aged 21 and over. More than 100 spirit brands will join the festivities, including Ronald Isley Liquid Gold, Loyalty Wines by J. Prince, Sable Bourbon by Morris Chestnut and Taye Diggs, Hometown’s Black Eden Bourbon, Zawadi Vodka, Nyak Cognac, Duke and Dame Salted Caramel Whiskey, IslandJon Vodka, Ricarda Amor Tequila by film producer Stevo Love, Cajun Fire Beer, and spirits from all over the country.
