It’s back! The annual National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA®) Conference is kicking off today in Chicago, Illinois.
Having this iconic event return to the 773 is special after the tumultuous year that was 2020 and because the Association was founded at the University of Chicago in 1970. It certainly brings a new meaning to the word homecoming!
While we really do not need to convince many of you to attend the NBMBAA® Conference, the team here at Eventnoire has put together a few key reasons why the 2021 Conference is one that you cannot miss, even if you do not have an MBA.
The Speakers
The NBMBAA® Conference always features influential speakers who are ready to drop gems on attendees, and the 43rd edition of this event is no different.
This year’s event features:
- Michael Vick, FOX NFL Analyst
- LaTosha Brown, Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter Fund
- Will Lucas, Brand Manager of AfroTech / Black Tech Green Money Podcast
- Michael Collins, Chief of Staff to the Chief Diversity Officer at Google
- Wendell Pierce of The Cinque Group
- Tristan Walker, CEO and Founder of Walker & Company Brands
- Morgan DeBaun, Founder & CEO of Blavity Inc.
- And many more!
The Networking
One of the best reasons to attend the NBMBAA® Conference is to find job and internship opportunities regardless of the stage of your career as the Association is always focused on economic and educational development.
With the NBMBAA® Career Expo, Resume Reviews, Corporate Hospitality Suites, and more sessions happening on Thursday, September 16th, there are multiple opportunities to get in front of employers and business leaders. A few of the organizations attending include NPR, Lockheed Martin, American Express, and Amazon and more who are looking to speak with attendees before, during, and after obtaining their MBA.
The City – Chicago
Everyone already knows that it does not get much better than summertime Chicago, and the conference is taking over the city at one of the best times before the chilly fall weather appears. Guests will have the opportunity to explore everything that downtown Chicago has to offer!
The Parties
After a long day of experiences and networking, it is time to party! Each evening of the conference features time to wind down with receptions (including the Welcome Reception with D-Nice), private movie viewings, and more!
Pyramid is also hosting* three can’t miss parties beginning on Thursday, September 16th at Bassline Chicago. Conference and non-conference attendees alike can register for these three events here.
